Our level 3 courses are presented as full day workshops guided by a visual presentation with practical bandaging and CPR sessions using training aids and specialist dog CPR manikins. We use a range of ‘real life’ scenarios, photographs and videos during our workshop combined with experience and discussions to enhance your learning and understanding of each topic. Each student will receive their own learning pack, including our dog first aid guide and bandaging materials to use during the course.

Qualification options

We [The Dog First Aid Co. Ltd] are an accredited CPD provider with The CPD Group and a registered training provider for iPET Network who are an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual, CCEA regulation and Qualifications Wales who specialise in qualifications of the canine and feline sector. This allows us to deliver our courses as either CPD Accreditation or the enhanced Ofqual regulated iPET Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid.

CPD Accreditation:
This is a certificate of attendance and proof of Continued Professional Development (CPD), not a formal qualification. We recommend CPD accreditation for persons who do not require a formal qualification. Students complete the day course and are awarded their CPD certificate, no further work is required. We recommend repeating this course every 3 years to stay up to date and refresh knowledge.

iPET Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid :
The iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid is a recognised Ofqual qualification lasting for three years and contributes towards licensing requirements for kennels, day care, boarding etc. We recommend this qualification for any persons completing the course who work in the pet industry. Each student is required to return a registration form and identification to register with the awarding body for the qualification, which you will receive instructions for within the course information email sent to you one week prior to the course date. An additional one hour home study and photographic evidence of practical assessments is required for the Level 3 qualification. We create a secure online portfolio for each iPET student in which all work is uploaded to. You do not require access to this and all work/guidance will be supplied to you by your course tutor. Home study (provided on the day) should be returned to your course tutor via email.

Once complete (including course workbook, photographic evidence, home study & administrative paperwork), each portfolio is submitted to iPET Network External Quality Assurer (EQA) for quality assessment. Following successful assessment to confirm all requirements have been met, the iPET Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid  e-certificate is awarded. Please note that iPET Network no longer issue printed certificates and instead will issue electronic certificates. These include a QR code to allow future employers or universities to verify the authentication of a certificate quickly and easily. You will receive this via email. This process takes approximately 12-16 weeks in total from the course start date. Level 3 candidates will still be issued a CPD accreditation certificate on the day. Printed iPET Level 3 Award certificates are available to purchase directly from iPET Network at an additional cost of £25+VAT. Please contact info@ipetnetwork.co.uk for more information and to order following receipt of your e-certificate.

The higher fee for the iPET Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid covers additional tutoring and management of online portfolio, awarding body administration fee and quality assessments.
