Dog First Aid Course

Our dog first aid courses are professional but fun, held in a comfortable and relaxed environment. Courses are taught only by our qualified team of registered veterinary nurses who hold extensive knowledge and experience in dog first aid.

The Dog First Aid Co. Ltd is CPD accredited meaning the learning activity has reached the required Continuing Professional Development standards and benchmarks and the value has been scrutinised to ensure integrity and quality.

We are also a registered training provider with iPET Network, which is an Awarding Organisation regulated by Ofqual, CCEA Regulation and Qualifications Wales, specialising in qualifications in the Canine and Feline sector.

Suitable for both the dog professional and owner, our CPD accredited & Ofqual regulated dog first aid course is a full day workshop covering all common canine emergencies.

Our courses are guided by a visual presentation and workbook with practical bandaging and CPR sessions using training aids and specialist dog CPR manikins, as well as learning life saving skills using real dogs. We use a range of ‘real life’ scenarios, photographs and videos during our workshop combined with experience and discussions to enhance your learning and understanding of each topic. Each student will also receive a copy of our dog first aid guide.

Courses are available as CPD accreditation or the enhanced iPET Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid which lasts for 3 years. Both courses run together, however additional home study is required for the Level 3 qualification, which is provided.

Candidates for the iPET Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid are internally assessed and portfolios of assessed evidence are quality assured either by an iPET Network External Quality Assurer (EQA) and/ or an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) approved by iPET Network.

Following assessment, the Level 3 certificate is awarded by post. This process takes approximately 16 weeks in total from the course start date. Level 3 candidates will still be issued a CPD accreditation certificate on the day.

The iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid meets the higher standard rating licensing requirements for kennels, day care, boarding etc.
